The New Holland 209R is a rugged, side-pull disc mower-conditioner engineered to give farmers and hay producers a reliable, high-quality cutting and conditioning solution for forage crops. Built around a 9 ft 2 in (2.8 m) cutting width and seven independently suspended discs, its MowMax™ modular cutterbar with ShockPRO™ hubs powers through tough, variable terrain while closely following ground contours to maintain a smooth, consistent cut and reduce crop loss. Designed for productivity, the 209R features the QuickMax™ knife change system that lets operators swap out dull or damaged knives rapidly without tools, helping minimize downtime and keep harvest windows open. The mower’s conditioning system offers flexibility with options such as rubber chevron rolls or LeaningEdge™ flail tines to enhance drydown and preserve forage quality, and its adjustable flotation and tilt settings help tailor performance to crop and field conditions. It’s driven via a PTO input at 540 rpm with slip-clutch protection and requires a minimum of about 65 HP from the tractor to operate efficiently, while the standard side-pull drawbar hitch and simple PTO hookup make it easy to attach and detach. Robust transport features like tubeless implement tires and a 7-pin electrical connector for lights support safe road travel at up to about 20 mph, and the well-balanced design yields a reliable, trouble-free experience for hay-making operations.
